NATO AGS arrives at base in Italy

SIGONELLA AIR BASE, SIGONELLA, Italy / Nov. 21., 2019

 

The first of five NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) aircraft landed at Sigonella Air Base, Sigonella, Italy on Nov. 21. Galleon is proud to be a part of this project with the (G1/XSR NAS).

Based on the Global Hawk, a U.S. Air Force wide area surveillance drone, the NATO AGS RQ-4D aircraft has been modified to suit NATOs requirements. The aircraft will equip NATO with advanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability.

The Nato AGS system include ground and support segments, advanced sensor technologies (the Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program radar) and the new aircraft with its four counterparts which is expected to arrive within the first half of 2020.
